Zoom Zoom (to DC)
Spent another weekend in the DC area. Well, the trip actually started on Saturday in Baltimore, picking up my friend Hue two hours late at BWI (sorry, I overslept) and then hanging out with his friends Angela and Lew. They're a newly married couple that live in this old turn-of-the-last-century home. We had breakfast togther. Three out of four of us had a chorizo burrito. Unfortunately, chorizo burns both at both ends of your digestive tract. We spent the remainder of the day going to a wedding, intermittantly returning to Bill's apartment to change clothes, nap, and play video games (hello, next SSX).
Depite each of us suffering from a different viral illness, Hue and I were prepared to party all night, but our DC friends were wimping out on us. Christine was at another social function, for which she never gave us the green light to crash and Bill was just plain tired. However, Bill's attitude did give us ample opportunity to play the "I know you're gay" game from the movie 40-Year-Old Virgin. (You'll know what I mean if you ever saw the film)

The highlight of the weekend ended up being Sunday. We registered for a Mazda-sponsored event called Zoom Zoom Live. Basically, it was a chance to test drive Mazda cars in a series of challenges. One involved driving a car which had a bowl of golf balls attached to the hood. The goal was to get through the winding track as fast as possible without the balls falling out. Obviously, another one was simply drive through the track as fast as you could. The pictures of us grinning like idiots came from that one. As scary as it was to drive on a track at the threshold speed of losing control, it was scarier to be the passenger.

It's a shame that we could not spend more time with Bill and Chris. Fortunately for me, I'm only two hours away, so for next time here's hoping they won't wuss out on me.
