Fall Pictures

Megan loves pictures. She likes pictures for every season, especially for Fall, her favorite season. She loves to have family pictures displayed around the house. She used to get formal photos done but I always nagged her about the cost. I'd argue that we purchased an expensive camera so that we could take good, displayable photos ourselves.

This year Megan obliged. We took some on our own yard and some in various locations around town.

Enjoy.

Hot Chip Fans Are The Greatest

As you can see from a previous post, I went to a Hot Chip concert last Friday. It was in New York City and I went with Carl. I was simply a casual fan of the group before the show. Through their recordings, I considered them to be very good songwriters. Their unique blend of dance and soul music had a healthy dose of quirk. In concert they downplayed the quirkiness and amped up the dance factor.

By the way, Hot Chip fans were some of the greatest fans I've ever been in an audience with. Unlike indie hipster detachment I had unfortunately seen at other shows, the Hot Chip crowd was enthusiastically dancing and singing with every song. It wasn't the typical aggressive male crowd pushing and cramming to the front either. It was a diverse mix actually dancing, and Carl and I found ourselves with a surprisingly large amount of room near the front of the stage, Needless to say, I got swept up in the crowd's enthusiasm. In between the dancing, I did manage to snap a few pictures. True to conventional rock and roll wisdom, I fully understood the band's appeal after seeing them live.
